The Romans, apart from the introduction of Tuscany and orders for the composite system classical order, also invented the superimposed order. An order of superposition is when successive stories of a building have different orders, as in a playroom at many levels. The highest orders were at the base, while the lighter came to the summit. This means that the Doric order was the order of the ground floor, the order ion was used for the middle floor, while the Corinthian or the Composite order was used for the upper floor. The composite order was really just a more elaborate and ornate version of the Corinthian Order Greek. The Tuscan order could be used as a basis for a project on several levels because of its robustness, but Doric was favored. The Tuscan order has been considered primitive by architects Romans and has been considered the most appropriate military architecture and in docks and warehouses where they were worthy of treatment architecture.
