Drilling 1 "hole in the sheet - but the drill will not sit still - what can I do?
I have these lights in metal shop thin that came with a plug in the cord. I am removing the cord and hard wiring them in. I bought a 1 "hole saw that is appropriate for metals - but it just slips on the surface "D-oh!" How can I get those holes in the metal (the small hole for the cord is not enough large) tips for exercise, and alternative ideas are welcome.
my father would have used a center punch ... like these guys say everything. What is the thickness of the metal? If this is not too thick, put a piece of wood behind him, he anchored for your bench and take a peak of 6 inches and the hammer through the hole. Of course, if the metal is too thick, you should use the drill.
